Singaporean Malay/Muslims have always played a pivotal role in fostering community resilience, promoting interfaith understanding and nurturing a deep sense of religious identity and belonging. Such contributions are a testament to the MM community’s commitment to maintaining social and religious harmony in Singapore – a shining example of unity in diversity.
International Conference on Communities of Success (ICCOS)
The first ICCOS was launched by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on 9 September 2022. In the hope of sharing this vision to the global stage, which can serve as an exemplary model for Muslim communities in contemporary societies, Muis held the International Conference on Communities of Success (ICCOS) as a platform for Muslim minority communities around the world to galvanise around a strong narrative of success founded on the notion of “Contributing Citizens, Dynamic Institutions”.

The next edition of ICCOS will be held in 2026.
Fatwa Lab Symposium
The inaugural Fatwa Lab Symposium highlights the breadth of fatwa formulation, showcasing how diverse expertise informs our response to complex social, ethical, and religious challenges. Through critical reflection and forward-thinking inquiry, Fatwa Lab Symposium 2025 underscores Singapore’s commitment to a fatwa institution that is both rooted and responsive to the evolving realities of our time.
The Fatwa Lab Symposium 2025 seeks to achieve the following outcomes:
To further build on the foundation laid by the Fatwa Conference in 2024, in addressing contemporary and emerging issues affecting the community, through the Fatwa Lab initiative, as an approach for developing religious positions that are multi-disciplinary and rooted in the Islamic principles and values.
To expand foster meaningful dialogue between religious scholars and domain experts, showcasing how Islamic jurisprudence can effectively engage with modern scientific and technological advances.
To empower the next generation of religious leaders by applying critical thinking and fatwa formulation skills to contemporary fiqh issues, particularly in emerging fields like genetic screening and medical technology.
Showcase the evolution of fatwas in response to Singapore’s changing socio-religious landscape, highlighting the adaptability of Islamic jurisprudence and the central role of compassion in addressing the complex challenges faced by Muslim communities.

SalamSG Movement
SalamSG Movement, abbreviated as SSGM, is a nationwide community movement driven by all mosques in Singapore with the aim of spreading good within and beyond the community. Imbued with SMI values, faith programmes and services are integrated with initiatives to increase charity and social resilience. This effort in shaping our religious life transcends physical mosques by growing Virtual Faithspaces, connecting the community with purposeful content suited for all, powered by Zakat to strengthen the community.
